Change Permissions for Project State

We are trying to implement the project section of our REI3 deployment as a change management tool, and only want users with 'admin' permissions on the projects application to be able to change the state of the project. For example, we only want certain users to be able to change it from 'Proposed' to 'Accepted' or any other state.

Is this possible to change in builder mode?

REI3 apps usually have some configuration options, though in this case I think there is no option to change this particular behaviour.

Making changes to other apps directly is a no-go (docs). and is not update-safe - the Builder is there to either build your own apps or to build on top of other apps to add more features.

If you need changes to or want features implemented into the REI3 apps from the repository, you can contact us and we can make an estimate. Since REI3 is a low code platform, we can usually implement new features/options within a few hours.

Building your own projects app is also an option if you have more specific requirements.

Okay, so we are in the middle of building a 'Change Management' application using the projects application as the parent so to speak, and we want to know if we can create roles in this new application that would accomplish the functionality previously described: restrict users in the standard roles from modifying the state, and allowing an 'approvals' user to have the access necessary to change it. I am very new to the builder, but i believe it is possible if we configure a relation correctly in our new app?

I´ve responded to your contact request via our website. But to answer this question, which was not included in the request:
If you build your own forms inside your app, you can choose to adjust field settings (readonly, writable, required, etc.) based on whatever criteria you choose (dynamically using form states based on role memberships or other criteria).

What you cannot change, is how the roles (ie. what someone can do generally) and policies (what someone can do to specific records) in the original app work. In the case of REI3 Projects however, this should not be an issue if you overwrite in the frontend via form states as there are very few restrictions at the moment.
