User auto-registration

Hi,
Is it possible to have an auto-registration option in the login form?
Like many if not most of the sites of any kind have out there. In which if you have a user you login, or else you are given a form to register yourself, and then you receive an email to confirm your identity, and a standard user is created for you in the system with a default set of permissions.

Not at the moment. Is is a use case that was mentioned a couple of times - but it´s a bit far from what we want r3 apps to be used for primarily.

It is on our wish list, but not prioritized at the moment.
