Is the change in date dropdown intentional ?

I have a question relating to date dropdown in the new update 3.11. Before this version when the date field is narrow the dropdown would expand so that the calendar view is still full and the users can easily choose the date.

However, in the new version it is cut to the width of the field.

Is this intentional? If it is then we would have to make all date fields quite wide to accomodate the calendar view, and those are quite wide, taking some valuable space on some forms.

The dropdowns should always have been limited to the max. width of the parent field - but it seems that in r3 versions up to 3.10 this was not correctly done in your browser. Is this Safari? The input field kinda looks like it.

Date fields generally need some space, though I understand the desire to make everything more compact.
I´ll have a look at whether we can find a way to introduce a larger minimum size to dropdowns so that the parent fields can stay small.

Yes, the browser that I am using is Safari. I also tested it in Chrome (also in MacOS, though) and it behaved the same. I guess it's a mac browsers thing.

Anyways, for now I will make the date fields wider. Would be nice if you can somehow find a way to introduce a larger minimum size though.

r3.11.1 now has a minimum size for date input dropdowns. It should address your issue directly.
