Install Client Application

Hi - me again ;)

In the user settings page, in the "Devices" section, there is an option "install client application".

Step 3 tells me to "Download the application & config file to the same folder". I can download the application, but the config file link takes me to a JSON browser with the message "general error":

What have I done wrong this time? ;)

Hello - sorry that you are having issues :/

I just checked on my test machines, the feature works for me. Could please try again and then look into your system logs (Admin->Logs). There should be an error there that might help us.

aborted client_download request, missing getter: hostPort

The issue is now fixed with REI3.3.4 - it should now work regardless of chosen port.

I think I found the issue. My test machines all have high ports assigned - when I switch to default http/https ports (80/443) I get the same error. This is definitely a bug and can be fixed quickly.

I´ll let you know, once I have a fix ready.

Btw. I just found a quick workaround: In Chrome I can temporarily fix the issue by adding the port (443 if HTTPS, 80 if HTTP) to the URL, like so: https://my-host:443

Chrome hides the port (it will disappear) but I can download the config file for the client.
