Recovery steps are the same for every deployment model: Restore DB, restore files. The order does not matter. When both files and DB are restored, your new instance will boot up the same way as the backed up instance.
For file restoration, if you are installing to a completely new instance, you can empty the target folders. Though overwritting their contents works as well.
The most important step is the database recovery. For this, as decribed in the docs, you should create a new database to restore into.
