CSS Styling

I was looking for an open-source low-code latform and REI3 looks nice regarding functionality. But I am sorry to say that the styling does not look like something modern. It looks like it is 20 years old. While I understand you are focused on functionality, UI is also very important for customers/users. Is there a possibility to create custom styling? If not, you could copy features of the standard low-code platforms like Mendix or OutSystems. Even WPBakery in Wordpress. These systems are all the same, you can assign custom CSS classes to any elements (input box, title etc.) and select these classes in a central CSS file. Of course, there is much more but this would suffice and shouldn't be so complicated to implement.

We are aware that we do not rank highly in regards to looks / style. While we have made many improvements in this area already, we will continue to work on this.

In regards to styling via CSS: All our frontend elements have proper classes and can be addressed via CSS. REI3 Professional customers can already supply their own custom CSS content via the customizing features.

As an open source software, you can of course adjust any CSS you like without the need for any licenses, if you are willing to work on the source.

I think being able to adjust CSS is one thing and being able to attached a theme is another thing altogether.

Probably what @Luke is trying to ask is how can we apply a ready made style sheet to an application to make it look, feel and behave differently like for example use tool-tip to show error or information.

This would be a whole other beast. Especially if you want to introduce things that do not exist already - like adding tool tips where none existed before.

Even regular theming options often only go so far as changes in CSS + overwriting images. We might add theming options in the future, but changes in how the frontend behaves will likely always be restricted to what options we introduce into the platform.

Unless somebody forks the project of course, then the world is your oyster 🙂
