Kanban Application

Is there any documentation on setting up a kanban board, or a working example I can install to understand how the relations need to be setup?

I am struggling to get the kanban to display what I want.

I've created a small demo application to showcase how to set up an kanban (1 dimensional). Hope this will help you. If you struggle to create a 2 dimensional kanban, i could update this application in the evening.

A question ... I'm trying to build my own Kanban board with the Kanban UI element, and I have these two behaviors that I wanted to check with you.

There is a column (Not asigned) that seems to be fixed. Is this as it seems? or is it customizable, like being able to change at least the title or simply remove it ?
In my board (one dimension) the columns only show in the Form when they have at least one task assigned
Once I delete the last task in a column, the column disappears. (when I delete it from the Form that opens when clicking on a task)
However if I empty the column by dragging the task to another column, the empty column remains.
I would expect all the defined columns to display from the start and remain there even when empty. That is in general the way you define your "workflow" and are able to move tasks from one state to another . (I have states as columns, like Trello)

This behavior poses an additional problem, because if you want to advance a task to a column/state that never had a task before, or disappeared when deleting its last task, you can't, because the column won't be visible to drag the task to it.

I hope I've explained the situation properly.
Could you please check this?

This is by design, because the attribute you use to move cards between columns is defined to be nullable (can be empty). If the attribute can be empty, the card can be unassigned. If you want to get rid of the unassigned column, you must define the attribute as not nullable ("must have value").

This is a question of how your relations are joined in the Kanban field. If you need your columns to always be visible, you cannot inner or left join your column to your card relation. With a inner/left join, the column only exists, if there is a card record that uses it. To always show the columns, you are looking for right or outer joins, depending on your case.

Once you know it, it seems trivial and logical. However not easy to see it from that angle at first try.
